Your name and my name written right there on His hands! How he yearns to hear from us and for our lives to be totally dependent on Him. As we continue with God Seeker, and Discerning the Voice of God may we be like Nehemiah. May we truly have complete faith and trust in our mighty God. To know without a shadow of a doubt that He will fight for us (Nehemiah 4:20). To be prepared for whatever might come. That preparation is one thing you are modeling for your ladies by sharing and learning the word of God together each week. I know how much better I feel when I am prepared for what is to come.
As you are leading discussion in your small groups I have been praying over your own tent time. Praying that you are hearing from the Lord and are able to carve out the time to be quiet before Him daily as well.
God Seekers-------- Have you already seen some fruit from tent time in your ladies lives. Are they beginning to share how He is moving?
Discerning the Voice of God---- Have you seen some light bulbs turning on and excitement from your ladies as they hear Him calling out to them personally?
Share with us on the blog any stories you have thus far (you do not mention names obviously) but we would love to be encouraged and celebrate God's work with your stories.

Prayer ideas for the week--as we move them gently into more prayer try this....
Pick a Psalm for the group. Have them pray that Psalm by reading it silently to themselves all at the same time. Maybe they could even insert their name into it somewhere.
OR
Write down one thing that happened this week in their life that they want to praise God for. Ask them to silently take that to prayer.
Just a reminder that Mondays are fasting days if you want to join us.
Save the date for coffee and danishes October 16th. We will be up in the mezzanine area (right to the right of the new cafe up the stairs) You have to pass the cafe to find us! We have lots of wonderful treats for breakfast for you and your family. Would love to pray with you and catch up LIVE--during this time. We will be there from 8:30-1:30 so you can come before or after you worship. It was a treat to meet your families--thank them for sharing you with us!!!!!

"God Stories"
ReplyDeleteOne of the gals in our group works for the University of Wisconsin but lives in Louisville. She took the job with the understanding she would not relocate to WI so that means she travels all over the country each week. What does that have to do with a “God Story” you may wonder. :-) Well as she shared last week, her son has encouraged her to journal all her times traveling and when she retires write a book entitled “Turbulent Faith”. Great title! She used to be involved with small group studies, facilitating, etc… She shared how she missed that connection, but sees that the Lord has her in a different area of life for this season. And what a “reason” as well! As she continues to seek God in her own life, He is using her in the lives of others seeking God...whether they know they are seeking or not. She shares about the people she meets and how she is able to share her faith. And on a plane…they really have no where to go. :-) But she shared last week (she had just flown in prior to study) about a lady she met this time named Cassandra. Cassandra is an Orthodox Jew and she began a conversation with her, I think Cassandra asked about her bible material. She was able to share so much about her faith and why she believes what she believes. Cassandra’s religion is all about the “law”. Cassandra told her she had never heard about our Redeemer. And she was “surprised” that being a Christian she knew so much. Not sure what that meant. But from what she shared you could tell it was a wonderful sweet conversation they had and Cassandra had lots of questions. She asked that we pray for Cassandra and that the seeds planted would take root and Cassandra would seek to know our Redeemer as her own!
She also shared about a flight one time where they were experiencing a lot of turbulence and the man sitting next to her, from Turkey, was very shaken. She shared she was not and the man asked her how she could be so calm. AH…another open door! :-) Well not literally in the plane! :-) But she was able to share that whether she lived or died she knew she was in the arms of her Savior. She did share with us that…if the plane did go down she prayed please make it fast…my family knows I’m good to go but I’m not keen on pain. :-)
Well that’s our “God Story” this week! We’re loving this study! Kristen, thank you for putting this study on DVD’s!
